Impact of the 75th Anniversary Capital campaign

The $1 Million goal of the 75th Anniversary Capital Campaign will fund:

  • Building renovations, accessibility, and safety systems.

  • The endowment

  • Other expenses

The impact of the Campaign will be to:

  • Unify the facility - restore the WHS&M façades at 266, 261, and 258 Main Street to their original mid-nineteenth century appearance. Three historical buildings flow together as one 8,000 sq. ft., fully accessible home for history, culture, education, and community. Essential renovations will make this vision a reality.

  • Expand the possibilities - with larger galleries, expanded collections storage, and dedicated educational spaces. This creation of more room will allow for new stories to be told and for every visitor to discover something that inspires them.

  • Open doors for all - by adding ADA-compliant restrooms, an elevator, climate controls, and modern safety systems. This will ensure that everyone - regardless of age or ability - can explore, learn, and belong here.

  • Plan for the future - Preserve for generations with a permanent endowment that will secure the museum’s future, protect our shared heritage, and sustain this community treasure for decades to come.

Buy A Brick

Help pave the way to a future of a growing and vibrant Museum.

Thanks to our community near and far, the Wellfleet Historical Society & Museum’s Buy A Brick Program continues to be a resounding success. Started in the early 2020’s, the engraved bricks help pave the way to the guture of a growing and vibrant museum that welcomes the whole community for diverse programs, exhibits, and events.

For a gift to the Capital Campaign at the Patron level of $500, you can join the many others who have chosen to be a part of the Wellfleet Historical Society & Museum forever. Add your permanent engraved brick to the plaza in front of the building with a personalized message to honor your family, remember a loved on, or celebrate your Wellfleet connection. There’s a story behind every brick! What’s yours?
